Mikheil (Mishiko) Sulakauri is a Georgian visual artist, street art artist and graffiti writer based in Tbilisi.

I was born and raised in Tbilisi, Georgia, and my ancestry hails from the mountainous region of Tusheti, which is rich with mythology and paganistic rites practiced to this day. My work emerges from a deep connection to the urban environment and local history, bringing the two together through visual storytelling. Manmade changes, additions, and omissions form the surroundings that inform and fuel my creative process. My practice is based on seeing, analysing, and contextualising scenes that unfold around me.

Artist Statement

His character Lamb is one of the most recognizable characters in Tbilisi's street art. Since 2017, the anarchic sheep appeares across the city with witty, often absurd visual commentary on social, political, and religious issues.

He is one of the pioneers of Georgia's street art scene and one of its most outspoken advocates. He was an active participant of Fabrikaffiti and organizes the annual Miro Pak Fest.

Street art without criticism is simply painting.

In 2022, he published Tbilisi on Comment, a book collecting the city's ever-changing streetscape. It brings together photographs of graffiti, murals, inscriptions, and other forms of urban expression that have since disappeared, been altered, or painted over.
