Sepe
Sepe (Michał Wręga), born in 1982 in Warsaw, has been part of the Polish graffiti and street art scene since the mid-1990s. Since 1996, he has painted numerous walls in Poland as well as in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Russia, Indonesia, Turkey, the USA, and England.
In my works Im mostly inspired by the normal, everyday situations and people's life. I use it as an excuse and subject to interpret it and translate it for painting language - searching for a composition issues, exploring colors and play with the form. In the end it all starts to live its own modified life as free creation following into the abstract direction.

His style is characterized by dark, intense colors - black, red, deep blue, and violet - often combined with comic-like elements. This creates a distinctive blend of naive lightness and unsettling heaviness.
He presents a pessimistic view of the world while also warning about the direction modern society is heading. Sepe describes his art as “grotesque,” reflecting the contradictions of contemporary reality: social media that fosters loneliness, the constant hunger for entertainment, and the erosion of individual identity.
We managed to gather all humans’ knowledge into one place. Made it available to everyone, everywhere by creating a worldwide network and we use it mainly to share sweet photos of puppies. What is it then if not The Golden Age Of Grotesque…?

Sepe (Michał Wręga), 1982 in Warschau geboren, gehört seit Mitte der 1990er Jahre zur polnischen Graffiti- und Street Art Szene. Seit 1996 hat er zahlreiche Wände in Polen sowie in Deutschland, Frankreich, Italien, Spanien, der Schweiz, Russland, Indonesien, der Türkei, den USA und England.
Sein Stil ist geprägt von dunklen, intensiven Farben - Schwarz, Rot, Tiefblau und Violett - die oft mit comicartigen Elementen kombiniert werden. Dadurch entsteht eine eigentümliche Mischung aus naiver Leichtigkeit und verstörender Schwere. Sepe arbeitet vorwiegend mit Spraydosen, setzt aber auch Pinsel und Farbrollen ein.
Er zeigt eine pessimistische Weltsicht und warnt zugleich vor der Richtung, in die moderne Gesellschaft steuert. Sepe bezeichnet seine Kunst selbst als "grotesk" und reflektiert damit die widersprüchliche Realität unserer Gegenwart: soziale Medien, die Einsamkeit fördern, der ständige Hunger nach Unterhaltung und die Entwertung individueller Identität.
