The Guardian of Time

The artwork is dedicated to the ancient plane tree located in Telavi, which, according to local tradition, is more than 900 years old. For this reason, it is perceived not merely as a natural element, but as a living being - a silent guardian of time, a witness to the transformations of generations and of the country as a whole. The piece develops the image of the tree as a metaphor for the history of Georgia. The cyclical rhythm of nature is thus transformed into a historical and cultural rhythm, suggesting a continuity that spans centuries, where each stage carries the memory of the previous one and the potential for the next.

Das Werk ist der alten Platane in Telawi gewidmet, die lokalen Überlieferungen zufolge mehr als 900 Jahre alt ist. Sie wird daher nicht nur als Element der Natur wahrgenommen, sondern als ein lebendiges Wesen - als stiller Hüter der Zeit, als Zeuge der Veränderungen vieler Generationen und der Geschichte des ganzen Landes.

Das Kunstwerk entwickelt das Bild des Baumes als Metapher für die Geschichte Georgiens. Der zyklische Rhythmus der Natur verwandelt sich dabei in einen historischen und kulturellen Rhythmus und verweist auf die Kontinuität über die Jahrhunderte hinweg, in der jede Epoche die Erinnerung an die vorherige in sich trägt und zugleich die Möglichkeit der nächsten eröffnet.
