In the myth of Medea and Jason, Medea, a powerful witch, is struck by a love potion that compels her to help Jason obtain the Golden Fleece. When Jason later abandons her for another woman, Medea’s fury drives her to kill their children. Despite her actions, Medea escapes punishment and spends her days in paradise - a surprising outcome that I interpret as a reflection on the uncontrollable nature of love. This idea is captured in a mural where the blindfolded Medea rides an uncontrollable horse, symbolizing love’s power to lead us astray. It serves as a reminder that love, in its most intense form, can push us beyond our limits, and sometimes, forgiveness lies in understanding that loss of control.
