Justine Janelidze (იუსტინე ჯანელიძე, 1883–1950) was a Georgian physician, scientist, activist, and one of the pioneers of cardiac surgery worldwide.

Justine Janelidze was born in Samtredia, on Chavchavadze Street. He attended the classical gymnasium in Kutaisi, continued his education in Kharkiv (Ukraine), and later studied medicine at the University of Geneva in Switzerland.

In 1913, at the age of 30, he performed the world's first successful operation for a thoracic aortic injury. He developed a device that redirected blood flow through collateral arteries in cases of aortic injury, making surgical treatment possible. Janelidze introduced the term “burn disease” and in 1948 established a 50-bed thermal injury center at his clinic.

He developed techniques for correcting shoulder dislocations and created a surgical knot that is still featured in medical textbooks today. His surgical work covered cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and general surgery, as well as plastic surgery, trauma treatment, and transplantation. Janelidze served as chief surgeon of the Soviet Navy and held the rank of Lieutenant General of the Medical Service. He received numerous honors in the Soviet Union and was internationally recognized as a pioneer of cardiac surgery.
