Wall of August

In August 2018, on the 10th anniversary of the occupation, Gagosh created another anti-occupation mural on the wall of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, titled Wall of August. The mural is based on Picasso’s famous work Guernica, which was created in response to the bombing of Guernica by the Nazis. Wall of August depicts several tragic themes from the war days of 2008 and includes several metaphorical elements, such as Russian military boots on a Georgian ornamental carpet, a bear entering and leaving, and bombs repeatedly showing the digits 2, 0, 0, 8.

Im August 2018, zum zehnjährigen Jahrestag der Besetzung, schuf Gagosh ein weiteres anti-okkupatorisches Mural an der Wand der Nationalen Parlamentarischen Bibliothek Georgiens mit dem Titel "Wall of August". Das Mural basiert auf Picassos berühmtem Werk Guernica, das als Reaktion auf die Bombardierung von Guernica durch die Nazis entstanden ist. "Wall of August" zeigt mehrere tragische Themen aus den Kriegstagen 2008 und enthält mehrere metaphorische Elemente, wie russische Militärstiefel auf einem georgischen Ornamentteppich, einen ein- und ausgehenden Bären sowie Bomben, die wiederholt die Ziffern 2, 0, 0, 8 zeigen.
